Boston, MA – May 27, 2022 – Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADN) (“Advent” or the “Company”), an innovation-driven leader in the fuel cell and hydrogen technology sectors, is pleased to announce that it participated in the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) annual Energy Innovation Summit, which took place May 23rd-25th, in Denver, Colorado.
ARPA-E is an annual conference and technology showcase that brings together experts from different technical disciplines and professional communities to discuss new and innovative ways of addressing America’s energy challenges. Now in its twelfth year, the summit offered a unique, three-day program aimed at moving transformational energy technologies from the lab and into the market.
Represented by its Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Emory De Castro, Advent proudly shared a booth with Los Alamos National Laboratory. Dr. De Castro discussed progress updates on the new Advent membrane electrode assembly (“MEA”), which is currently being developed within the framework of L’Innovator, the Company’s joint development program with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Los Alamos National Laboratory (“LANL”), Brookhaven National Laboratory (“BNL”), and National Renewable Energy Laboratory (“NREL”). Once commercialized, the new Advent MEA is expected to redefine the MEA market globally and further validate Advent’s leading position in the electrochemistry components business. The new Advent MEA is expected to surpass the performance of today’s MEAs, successfully operate under extreme weather conditions, and significantly exceed the lifetime of Advent’s existing MEAs. Dr. De Castro also provided an overview of Advent’s wide range of sustainable products, and how the Company plans to take a leading role to facilitate faster decarbonization of the world’s energy needs.
